Felt Story: Bats

Last week we did a bat theme and I wanted a felt story that actually taught the children some facts about them. I made up this felt story that also helps with number recognition.

Can You Find The Bats?
By: Analisa Carrillo

*After you place all the pieces on the board, have each child come up and find the bat with the correct number*
Bats are nocturnal, they sleep in the day.
And at night, they come out to play.
There's so many bats that want to have fun,
Can you come find, bat number 1?

Bats are nocturnal, they sleep in the day.
And at night, they come out to play.
There are so many things for them to do,
Can you find bat number 2?

*Repeat the first two lines for every number*

Bats sleep in caves and in holes inside trees.
Can you find bat number 3?

Most bats eat insects, some from the floor.
Can you find bat number 4?

All bats fly, of course they can't drive.
Can you find bat number 5?
